The Department of Forensic Pathology was established in line with Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah UiTM's mission to provide comprehensive health services, ranging from pregnancy to death and covering for autopsy procedures when required. On the 1^st June of 2021, the mortuary services had begun at the department in Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah UiTM Puncak Alam, in addition to the dead body management services at HUiTM Sungai Buloh.

According to the plans, the full operation of the department which includes the medico-legal autopsy examination for the brought-in-dead (BID) cases will commence in phases. The negative-pressure autopsy room facility enables the autopsy examination of COVID-19 positive cases to be conducted safely in the department, with the first of such case performed on 2^nd August 2021.

All the staff in the department have undergone relevant training at the Ministry of Health hospitals to enhance their skills and knowledge. The department is a clinical specialist training centre for Master of Pathology (Forensic Pathology) UiTM candidates which had its first intake in December 2022.
